When I started Computer Engineering at University of Waterloo, I remember being told the following three ‘truths’:
- All you’ve got to do is pass 1B
- 2B is the hardest term
- Fourth year’s not as bad as the previous three
Lies. All lies. Perhaps it simply served as a way to keep you moving, hitting that next ‘small’ goal. But what if I told you the truth: “Every term gets harder and busier”
Because that’s the truth people. For the past…I don’t know how long…I don’t even have a sense of time anymore…the only thing I really remember doing is designing software, writing code, debugging, writing reports. RPC, Java NIO, Network Simulator, AI. The list goes on. The moment I finish one, there’s another item on the agenda.
I can’t remember the last time I really sat down and relaxed without any cares. No rest for the wicked hmm?
